When interviewed by Il Secolo XIX, Genoa midfielder Daniel Bessa, spoke about the late Pierluigi Casiraghi, who was the one who brought him to the Nerazzurri youth team set up.
“He was one of the most important people in my life, he took me to Italy allowing me to become a footballer. When I heard about his death I cried, I owe him everything and I will go to the funeral, I asked permission from the coach, I must be there as it is too important” Bessa stated.
The former Hellas Verona player Bessa has found memoris of his time with the Nerazzurri: “It was not easy but it was very nice, in 2012 with Andrea Stramaccioni coach we won the Scudetto and NextGen. We were a great team, a very strong group. 7-8 play in Serie A, the same number in Serie B.”
Bessa is currently on loan to Genoa from Hellas Verona. He appeared in 17 games this season with Verona and has yet to see the field for Genoa.
