Antonio Candreva was the first of the Inter squad to speak with Premium Sport following the 0-0 Derby della Madonnina in which Inter could have quite easily won had it not been for two unfortunate misses from club captain Mauro Icardi.

“There is some regret because we could have won, but we played a great game. We believe in the Champions League and have so since the beginning since Luciano Spalletti arrived. We live on even in spite of a period of tarnish, now there are still other points available to us to help us reach our goal.”

The winger has struggled in front of goal this season and has so far failed to find the net but he admitted there are more important things to worry about.

“The important thing is to stay together. You can joke about my lack of goals but I would be happy to qualify for the Champions League even without a goal, these things are secondary. The coach asks us to not take points in advance, there are others who can score.”
