Inter’s Danilo D’Ambrosio reflected on the 0-0 Derby della Madonnina and claimed that Inter deserve to be in the top four come the end of the season.

“These are two points dropped, we deserved to win from every point of view,” the defender told Sky Sport.

“We want the Champions League and since the beginning of the year, despite the difficult time we endured, we deserve to be in the top four.”

The match was deemed crucial for both clubs European football ambitions in the build up and the full back was asked on what the result means for Milan and their aspirations.

“Milan out of the Champions League fight? We do not care about the opponents, we want to get into the top four ourselves.”

Mauro Icardi’s two open goal misses will be one of the main talking points in the papers tomorrow morning but D’Ambrosio was quick to defend his captain.

“Were Icardi’s misses due to tension? No he didn’t miss due to tension, it can happen that you miss sometimes.”
