Inter and Shaktar Donetsk have been in negotiations regarding the transfer of Brazilian midfielder Bernard according to a report in Italian media outlet CalcioMercato.com.
According to the report the possible arrival of Bernard on a free transfer from Shakthar could prove to be equally as costly for Inter. The Brazilian playmaker is currently sitting on a contract which is set to expire at the end of June 2018 and according to the report he is pushing for a move to Italy and the Serie A, an aspiration he confirmed to have as far back as 2014.
The person behind these negotiations is Iranian agent Kia Joorabchian who masterminded Joao Mario’s and Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa’s transfers to Inter in the summer of 2017. Inter paid on both occasions a lot of money for the duo who ended up as flops last season.
However, aside from the hefty transfer fees which reportedly combined cost Inter €77 million, the Nerazzurri also paid hefty commissions for both players with Kia Joorabchian pocketing €7 million in total.
CalcioMercato report that the situation could be repeated again this time with Bernard as Joorabchian is asking for a 4 year contract worth €4 million net per season excluding bonuses as well as a commission of about €10 million to be paid to him for his services.
