Should any difficult arise when it comes to Inter trying to redeem Joao Cancelo, Valencia could look to strike a deal with Inter that would see centre back Ezequiel Garay switch the Mestalla Stadium for the San Siro reports coming out of Spain suggest.

After a slow start Joao Cancelo has now cemented himself in Luciano Spalletti’s starting eleven however due to Inter’s delicate financial situation as a result of financial fair play implications, redeeming him may not be possible or at least at the current figure of €35 million.

Valencia too have a delicate financial situation and would appear to have been relying on Inter redeeming Joao Cancelo to allow them to redeem Geoffrey Kondogbia for €25 million.

If Inter are not to redeem the Portuguese defender, Valencia could offer Garay in a straight swap deal for Kondogbia to negate the costs involved in redeeming the Frenchman.

Garay is a former target of Inter from when he was with Zenit but is a centre back rather than a full back like Cancelo is meaning Inter may not be so keen on agreeing to any deal involving the Argentine.
