Former Inter goalkeeper Francesco Toldo recorded a message which was released on Porto’s official Twitter account where Toldo heaped praise over Iker Casillas after the former Real Madrid stopper made his 1000th match between the sticks.
The former Fiorentina stopper stated that: “Iker, you are a great goalkeeper. This is from someone who has been around a lot. And you are still a great keeper, know this! You have played 1000 matches, this is not something everyone does. I have always respected you and viewed you with great respect and have also always had a good judgement for the man you are.
“As you know better that I do, the judgement of the fans is not based on the sporting role of a goalkeeper but on what kind of man you are. You have never been involved in bad things, you have always been professional and have played for two great teams. I send you a big hug and pay you many compliments. Enjoy this moment and when the time comes to call it quits I will have to applaud you and give you a pat on your shoulder. I give you my best wishes, I admire you” Toldo concluded.
