The coach of Ukrainian top flight club Zorya Luhansk, Yuri Vernydub, was interviewed by the club’s official homepage where he was asked about 19 year old goalkeeper Andriy Lunin who has been strongly linked with a transfer to Inter recently.

When asked about the younsters future Vernydub heaped praise on Lunin whilst being very open about the possibility that he could leave the club stating that: “I understand that he could leave to go to a big club. What coach would want to lose one of his players? However these kinds of decisions are made by our President and General Manager as it is their job to handle these specific issues.

“If there is an important offer on the table, and the club and the player reach an agreement, we have to be ready for this possibility. That’s life. As for the rest I think that Andriy deserves this chance to take the next step” Vernydub concluded.

Several reports have suggested that Inter have identified Lunin as the ideal player to replace Samir Handanovic.
