With the summer transfer market approaching, it is no doubt that interest in Sampdoria midfielder Dennis Praet will continue to grow. The greatest interest appears to come from two giants of the Serie A: Inter and Juventus. The Belgian spoke to Gazzetta dello Sport on what the future could hold for him.
“I’ve read about the interest from the big sides. It’s nice as it means that I’m playing well. For now, I only think of Sampdoria and I have no plans to leave Genoa.
“Can I confirm I have a €26 million release clause? I have read about this too, but it is my father who deals with the contracts. I think about playing, about qualifying for Europe and about great challenges.”
The player concluded by setting his sights on making the Belgium squad for the World Cup but knows it will not be easy due to the wealth competition for places.
“The World Cup is an amazing showcase, but it will be very difficult for me to take part. Beglium’s midfield is incredibly strong, even players as strong as Nainggolan are not guaranteed a spot. I haven’t given up, but first I must focus on doing well for Sampdoria. I have grown a lot since I arrived. I have found trust from the coach who is let me play with continuity, but I will not be satisfied until I score my first goal. It is true, our playing style does not give many opportunities to the midfielders to score, but both Torreira and Linetty have goals this season. With seven games left, I do not give up.”
