Inter’s 4-0 win over Cagliari on Tuesday evening was marred by the muscular injury sustained by Roberto Gagliardini during the first half, with the Italian midfielder having to be taken off on a stretcher after picking up a thigh strain.
First reports after the match suggested that he could be out for the rest of the season, but the player himself remains confident of making a swift return to action, as he wrote on his Twitter profile on Wednesday morning.
“Great win last night”, Gagliardini said. “Unfortunately these things happen, but I’m optimistic I’ll return as soon as possible before the end of the season.”
