Inter’s Italian international full-back Danilo D’Ambrosio stopped by InterTV to share his thoughts on the important away win in the Serie A against Chievo Verona at the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi after a goal each from Mauro Icardi and Ivan Perisic secured all three points.
D’Ambrosio began by talking about his assist for Icardi’s goal stating that: “It happened in one moment, I thought about shooting it on goal, then I saw Mauro and I thought that he had a higher percentage of scoring [laughs]. The pitch today did not allow us to play the ball as quickly as we have these past few matches but in the second half we accelerated our rhythm and until their goal we lowered the tension playing the ball less on the ground. It was not the change of system, we were the ones who lowered the rhythm and we allowed Chievo to put us in difficulty.
“The match against Juventus wont be like any other, the three points are fundamental for us, we have four finals left to play and we have to try to win them all until the end. Today it was a good demonstration of maturity but also against Milan and Torino we did not deserve a draw or a defeat. Also against Atalanta we had our chances. Today, despite not having played fast we deserved the win” D’Ambrosio continued.
In conclusion the former Torino defender was asked about tonight’s fixture between Napoli and Juventus to which he replied: “It does not change much for us to play a Juventus who are ahead of us in the standings, we have to win no matter what.”
