Inter captain Mauro Icardi, who scored his 26th goal in 29 appearances in the Serie A this season when breaking the deadlock at the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi in the Nerazzurri’s 2-1 win away against Chievo Verona, was interviewed by Premium Sport immediately after the final whistle to share his thoughts on the win.
The Nerazzurri skipper stated that: “It was a good game, it was a shame that we risked things the way we did in the final 15-20 minutes. However, it must be said that on this heat and on this dry pitch it was very difficult but we did well.”
In conclusion the former Sampdoria and Barcelona striker was asked about his opening goal explaining that: “There was a bit of confusion, they argued that the referee had blown his whistle before I scored but it was a good goal, D’Ambrosio was not offside. Now we have to continue to win because Roma and Lazio aren’t giving up.”
