Walter Gargano: “I Hope Inter Beat Juventus, Spalletti Is A Great Coach”

Ahead of this weekend’s Derby D’Italia between Inter and Juventus, former Nerazzurri midfielder Walter Gargano previewed the match in an interview with TuttoMercatoWeb.

“Inter should trouble Juventus. It is a crucial race for the Nerazzurri as they for qualification for the Champions League. I hope that they can get a positive result.”
The 33-year-old, who now plays for Penarol in his native Uruguay, was then asked if he thinks Inter will soon be back competing for the scudetto.
“Luciano Spalletti is doing a great job. He is a great coach and he has made a good start to his job but Inter are not ready at this time. Right now the gap from the first two is too large.”
Gargano joined Inter on loan for the duration of the 2012/13 season from Napoli and went on to make a total of 36 appearances in Nerazzurro across all competitions, he was unable to get on the scoresheet but did contribute two assists.
