Tuttosport have outlined the curious position that Juventus left-back Kwadwo Asamoah finds himself in ahead of the Bianconeri’s crunch match against Inter on Saturday evening.
“Tomorrow,” they write, “Asamoah could help to deny himself the chance to play in the Champions League next season. The Ghanaian will probably be playing for Inter after the summer and yet if he wins at San Siro tomorrow he will seriously damage Spalletti and his players’s hopes of a top four finish.
“And that’s what he’ll try to do, if Allegri gives him the nod ahead of Alex Sandro. There’s no doubt about that: better to win the Scudetto today than to take part in the Champions League tomorrow.”
Is there still a chance Asamoah doesn’t end up signing for Inter, though? The Turin-based paper doesn’t think so. “His contract with Juventus expires on 30 June and unless he changes his mind he won’t be renewing it in the meantime.
“The Bianconeri have been in action over the past few months trying to ensure themselves a safety net in case Alex Sandro leaves this summer, but they moved too late: Inter had already come in for him and convinced the Ghanaian to sign for them, along with his wife, who is even more keen than he is to move to Milan.”
