Corriere dello Sport reports further on the statements made by Inter’s Sporting Director Pietro Ausilio who spoke to Premium Sport before the Inter-Juventus clash on Saturday night regarding the future of Luciano Spalletti.

The Roma based newspaper reports that stated that: “Regardless of how this season ends, with or without qualification for next seasons Champions League, Inter want to continue with Luciano Spalletti on their bench” before quoting Ausilio: “We need to give continuity to our project and, since we have started with Spalletti and these players, the idea is to continue is this direction. We must continue to work hard, and there is great desire to shorten the gap that current exists between us and our goals.

“We can work to close these gaps on the transfer market, but also with stability in the company, with a coach that we can build around and players who have already know what it means to play for Inter. Continuity is only helpful: we have already closed the gaps between us and both Lazio and Roma, as we can see from the comparison with last year” Ausilio stated.

The newspaper goes on to suggest that, at the end of the current season, the club will move to extend Spalletti beyond his current contract which expires in 2019.
