Marcelo Brozovic has become a key part of Inter’s midfield recently but despite this, he could still be sacrificed to help Inter with their ongoing financial fair play problems Gazzetta dello Sport detail.
Inter must raise €40 million by the end of June and the sale of Brozovic, who has a €50 million release clause in his current contract, would completely solve those problems.
Moreover, according to Corriere dello Sport, the Croatian, who is likely to make his 100th appearance for Inter this weekend against Sassuolo, really wishes to remain with the Nerazzurri. The Roman newspaper state that it would not make any sense for Inter to part ways with the midfielder who has enjoyed a recent upturn in form since being deployed in a deeper midfield role.
Brozovic is currently under contract at the San Siro through to the end of the 2020/21 season and has made 31 appearances across all competitions, scoring four and assisting eight this season.
