Joao Mario reflected on his loan spell with West Ham in an interview with West Ham TV.
“It has been an amazing experience for me. I want to say thank you to West Ham for everything they have done for me as well as my teammates, and my coaches. I am really happy with the last six months and we will see what happens.”
The Portuguese midfielder, who made 13 appearances across all competitions since his arrival, also praised the West Ham fans for their support during his short stay with the club.
“The West Ham fans are incredible. Since I have arrived I have seen that they are fantastic. They support the team so well and for us, as players, it is the best thing.”
The 25-year-old’s future is likely to be put on hold until after the World Cup but reports circulating in the media have suggested that West Ham are to meet with Inter to discuss extending Joao Mario’s stay or even buying him outright.
