Rafinha and Joao Cancelo’s futures at hang in the balance until after the Lazio game according to a report from Tuttosport who state that everything will become clearer after Sunday’s game at the Stadio Olimpico.

Both players arrived at Inter on loan deals with €35 million redemption options attached however due to ongoing financial fair play problems, redeeming one, let alone two of them is nigh on impossible and even more so without Champions League which will bring in a lot of revenue.

Should Inter make the Champions League, Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio will meet with Barcelona and request to have Rafinha on loan for a further two seasons with a redemption obligation at the end of the loan.

Cancelo’s situation is a bit different though as Inter appear to be resigned to losing the Portuguese full back having already began the process of seeking out a replacement for him. Champions League qualification however could be all it takes for Inter to get back on track to land Cancelo.
