Musa Barrow has revealed he wants to be like Mauro Icardi during an interview with La Repubblica while reviewing his breakthrough season with Atalanta.
“I saw Icardi closely in the tunnel once and said to myself: I want to be like him. Against Lazio, I turned around, there was Milinkovic-Savic and I thought: he will want to do something for his name but also I have to do something for mine if I want to be at his level one day.”
In 34 games across all competitions last term, the 19-year-old netted an impressive 29 goals (26 for Atalanta’s Primavera side in 20 games and 3 in 12 for Atalanta). As a result, the Gambian youngster has come in to links with Inter among others in recent months with it being suggested that Atalanta could fetch somewhere in the region of €20 million for him.
“Am I worth €20m? That is what a true prodigy is worth.”
