Despite seemingly being well behind Napoli in the race for Simone Verdi, Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio refuses to give up on the idea of signing him as per a report from Corriere dello Sport.
The Nerazzurri are discussing a possible transfer with Bologna and are understood to have offered Italo-Brazilian attacker Eder as part of a deal to bring Verdi’s price-tag down. However, Eder’s €2 million a year net salary could prove troublesome to the deal.
Ausilio is keeping all avenues open as he looks to bring Inter a new winger. Fiorentina’s Federico Chiesa is another option for the Nerazzurri but La Viola seem completely unwilling to deprive themselves of the highly rated Italian youngster. Matteo Politano is another name that Inter have come in to links with but Inter and Sassuolo are some way apart in their valuation of the player. Sassuolo are looking for between €28-30 million but Inter are willing to spend no more than h18 million on the 24-year-old.
