Inter are set to hold talks with Nico Gonzalez’s representatives on Tuesday as they look to seal a deal to bring the Argentine forward to Italy, according to Gazzamercato.
Gonzalez, 20, has scored seven goals in 22 appearances for Argentinos Juniors in the Primera Division this season and has emerged in recent weeks as a transfer target for sporting director Piero Ausilio, who believes the 20 year-old would be a worthwhile investment for the future.
On Monday the player’s entourage flew into Milan ahead of talks with Ausilio, in the hope of securing personal terms before seeking a deal with Argentinos Juniors.
Were today’s summit to go well it is likely that Inter would attempt to bring Gonzalez to Serie A with the help of another club, as the forward currently does not possess an EU passport and could therefore restrict the Nerazzurri’s transfer movements later in the summer, should they sign him directly.
Sassuolo and Bologna are thought to be the clubs that they would wish to involve in a deal, asking them to sign Gonzalez before passing him onto Inter in a couple of years.
