Inter are among several top European clubs following the progress of 20 year-old Rennes midfielder Ismaila Sarr, according to La Stampa.
Sarr scored five goals and made five assists for the Ligue 1 outfit during the 2017-18 season as Sabri Lamouchi’s side secured qualification for next season’s UEFA Europa League, and starred in Senegal’s 2-1 victory over Poland in their opening World Cup Group H match on Tuesday.
Sporting director Piero Ausilio is said to have received positive feedback on the player after Inter sent scouts to watch several of his matches in France last season, and could decide to make a move this summer.
The Nerazzurri will not be able to secure Sarr on a cheap fee should they decide to step up their pursuit of him, however, as the Turin-based paper believes there are numerous clubs on his tracks.
Rennes signed the player from fellow French club Metz last summer in a deal worth €17 million and are hoping his performances for Senegal at this summer’s World Cup will help them make a sizeable profit.
