Inter are understood to be one of four clubs currently chasing Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic as per a report from Spanish news outlet Marca.

The Nerazzurri are in the race for the Croatian’s signature alongside arch rivals Juventus, fellow Serie A side Napoli and English giants Manchester United.

Kovacic, who still has three years left to run on his current contract at Real Madrid, is believed to be unhappy with his lack of playing time at the Santiago Bernabeu and wants out of the club to secure regular first team football as per other reports currently circulating in the media. He has made over 100 appearances for Real Madrid but the majority of them have come from the bench.

The Croatian is no stranger to Serie A and Inter in particular having played just shy of 100 games for the Nerazzurri prior to a circa €40 million transfer to Los Blancos in 2015, where he has won three straight Champions League trophies.
