After a strong start to this summer’s transfer campaign Inter now plan to focus their attention on signing a new right full-back.

According to Premium Sport, sporting director Piero Ausilio will be keeping a close eye on the situation regarding Chelsea’s Italian defender Davide Zappacosta, who signed for the London-based club last summer for €25 million.

Zappacosta and his entourage like the idea of playing under Luciano Spalletti, but Chelsea are seeking €30 million for this deal to go through. There has also been talks of the Blues adding Uruguayan midfielder Matias Vecino, who recently renewed his contract with Inter.

Inter plan to add depth to their full-back position after struggling to start a left back last season. By completing the signing of Asamoah, that problem has now been partially solved.

The focus is now on the opposite flank where D’Ambrosio is usually the chosen one, however due to his flexibility along the back-line he would be needed on the left if something were to happen to Asamoah, meaning he in turn would also need a replacement.
