During an interview at the inauguration of the “Mostra Artigianato” inside the Sardinia Arena museum, Cagliari president Tommaso Giulini took stock of the ‘Rossoblu’’s summer transfer market and confirmed the ongoing negotiations with Inter concerning Argentinos Juniors forward Nicolas Gonzalez.
“We have been negotiating with Inter for a couple of weeks,” he said, “but what’s for sure is that the player must come here with the sole intention of being a Cagliari player: if that were not the case then we would not bother.”
The Argentine attacker has been an interesting target for many clubs. At Argentinos Juniors, Gonzalez had 7 goals and 1 assist in 23 appearances last season.
In addition, the Cagliari boss closed the door on reports of a departure for Italian midfielder and long time Inter target Nicolo Barella, stating: “Dario Srna wanted the number 18 when he arrived, but I told him that for the next year that number is already occupied.”
