Mousa Dembele is without a doubt a high priority for Inter, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, who state; “The Belgian, who was on the bench during Belgium’s comeback against Japan, is Inter’s number one target.”
However, the Chinese transfer market is still open and the prospect of a potentially huge contract is tempting to the Belgian. Unlike other European competition, Inter have some significant advantages to rival even the Chinese. Radja Nainggolan is one of the player’s close friends and might be key in persuading him to join.
Another advantage is Suning. Inter may not be able to offer Dembele as big of a contract as other Chinese clubs, but Suning are also the owners of Jiangsu. A short-term contract with Inter would still greatly help the club establish themselves in Europe and allow someone like Roberto Gagliardini to learn from a more experienced player, similar in attributes. At the end of said contract, Dembele would have the security of Suning to move to China for one last big contract before retirement at Jiangsu, if he still desired to do so.
