Inter youth academy technical director Daniele Bernazzani discussed Nerazzurri’s youth project at hand in an interviw with RMC Sport.

“I do not really like the term ‘project.’ Too often it is used when often the reality does not correspond to this. It is important to give continuity to the work at hand. We try as much as possible to look for the most talented young players. There are young players that we see at 13-14 years old and they are very good and yet they do not come in. The road is long, mistakes are made then, and at the same time there is great satisfactions, like for the players who surprise us and go further than we expected.”

Bernazzani then proceeded to talk about the long standing relationship with Piero Ausilio and Roberto Samaden.

“It is important to work a lot of time with the same people. There is a relationship that goes beyond work, we have friendship and that helps create the best conditions to work well.”

Bernazzani then concluded the interview by stressing the importance of instilling values in to the young players.

“We feel obliged to do everything to make a boy a player, but also a man. We want to educate children according to the values of sport. It’s not that all the boys are the same, they have moments of growth and they can not behave well. For us the human aspect is very important.”
