Matteo Darmian’s contractual situation with Manchester United is pushing him further away from potentially joining Inter according to a report from Corriere dello Sport.
The Italian full back has just a year left on his current contract with the Red Devils which rules out Inter acquiring him with their preferred transfer formula of loan with right to redemption. In addition to this, Manchester United are not keen to sell him at a discounted price even though in just six months time clubs can approach the former Torino man on a pre-contract and sign him for absolutely nothing next summer.
Darmian is by no means the favoured target for right back but is regarded as one of the Nerazzurri’s main alternatives to Atletico Madrid’s Sime Vrsaljko who seems to be their priority to improve the team at right back ahead of the season kicking off in a month’s time alongside Chelsea’s Davide Zappacosta.
