Bruno Fernandes has put an end to transfer speculation that has saw him linked with Inter among others by putting pen to paper on a new four year deal with Sporting Lisbon that ties him to the club until the end of the 2021/22 season.
The Portuguese midfielder was one of a number of players who threatened to terminate their contracts with the club following a training ground attack by members of the club’s ultras but has retracted his threat by committing his foreseeable future to the Portuguese giants.
“I had proposals and Sporting likewise had proposals for me, but they did not want to sell me. Therefore, I had to accept that the club did not want to accept the proposals that were there,” the player said at his official contract renewal presentation.
