Inter youngster Alessandro Bastoni is to be sidelined for around two months following successful surgery to correct an injury to his meniscus according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.
The central defender sustained the injury earlier this week and went under the knife yesterday. The injury has caused him to miss out on the upcoming U19 European Championship’s and he is expected to be back after the first international break of the season.
The 19-year-old joined Inter from Atalanta last summer and was immediately sent back to the Bergamo club on a two year loan deal. The loan deal however has been cut short due to the lack of first team playing time he was afforded and Inter had been seeking another loan move for him within Serie A but the injury will mean he will have to remain at Inter at least until January where Inter will presumably look to send him out on loan again.
