Italian journalist Marco Bellinazzo has taken stock of the apparent rebirth Italian football is in for following the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus this week.
“The Portuguese alone arriving in Italy does not solve our problems. It’s a huge boost but Italian football also needs more reforms to avoid situations like for examples that of Bari, who have failed to meet Serie B’s financial demands twice in the past four years.”
Bellinazzo, a journalist for Italian business newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore, proceeded to talk about what most people already knew, Juventus alone can not help rebuild Italian football to previous heights where it was once regarded the best league in the world on their own.
“Another problem is that it takes so many clubs to buy these top players [to help our game], Inter is trying to do so with Suning as their owners,” Bellinazzo said in an interview with Radio24.
