Inter’s Chief Football Administrator Giovanni Gardini has revealed Luciano Spalletti’s first Inter contract was the easiest contract he has ever dealt with.

“It is the simplest contract that I have ever done. Piero Ausilio and I thought we would be finding ourselves faced with agents and lawyers but instead he represented himself and there was a mutual satisfaction,” Gardini said.

Spalletti joined the Nerazzurri on a two year contract last summer and lead Inter to a fourth placed finish which in turn saw them qualify for the Champions League this coming season.

Reports in the media have suggested Spalletti is to be rewarded with a new contract shortly and the manager himself spoke on it during his press conference on Friday ahead of Inter’s first pre-season encounter with Lugano.

“My contract is not an issue. We can even sort it all out in five minutes after training. Let’s not invent things that are not there. I feel good here. We’re serious people and we just want to work in the right way which is what the Inter Fans deserve.”
