Former Inter player Alvaro Recoba was interviewed by Calciomercato.com during the Bobo Summer Cup where he shared his thoughts on the current crop of players at Inter.
The Uruguayan player who was nicknamed El Chino during his sting at the Nerazzurri was asked about his opinion on Spanish midfielder Borja Valero to which he replied: “I really like how he plays. For me players like him are far and few in between, in a football where everyone puts emphasis on physique and speed. He has this pause, this quality, that the more I see it the more I enjoy it.”
In conclusion Recoba was asked what he thought the future holds for Inter captain Mauro Icardi who has been linked with a move away from the club: “He will not leave. The club knows who can be as important as he is for the team, and so as long as he doesn not leave he will remain an Inter player and we will hang on to him.”
