The relationship between Real Madrid President Florentino Perez and Croatian midfielder Luka Modric is looking to be at breaking point after Spanish media outlet LaSextaDeportes reports that the meeting between the parties has been unilaterally cancelled by the Los Merengues boss.
According to the report, Perez has with one nights notice decided not to meet neither the player’s representatives nor the player himself. By doing this the Madrid boss thinks he has concluded the questions concerning the player’s future as he expects Modric to rejoin the squad tomorrow at the club’s training ground in Valdebebas ahead of the European Supercup fixture.
The Spanish newspaper concludes that by doing this Florentino Perez has shut the door firmly in Inter’s face and that the transfer is officially over. However, this could land very poorly with Modric himself who could now personally explicitly ask for a transfer causing a complete relationship breakdown between him and the club.
