Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has again been asked about the possibility of managing in Italy with either of his former clubs Lazio or Inter in the future.

The 48-year-old Argentine manager was heavily linked with the Inter manager’s job last summer prior to Luciano Spalletti’s eventual appointment and has refused to shut the door on possibly managing in Serie A in the years to come all while affirming his commitment to Atletico, who he has been the manager of since 2011.

“Me managing in Italy? I am very close to Lazio and Inter and in my life as a coach I will surely go elsewhere and maybe even go to Serie A. At this time, however, I am very happy where I am and I am completely committed to the Atletico project,” Simeone said in a press conference after their friendly with Cagliari and ahead of Saturday’s clash with Inter.
