Former Inter midfielder Matteo Kovacic has joined Chelsea on a season long loan after 3 years at the Bernabeu where he failed to find any consistent game time in the Real Madrid midfield.
The Croatian moves to Chelsea as part of the deal that sees Belgian goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois go the other way. Speaking to English paper, The Evening Standard, Kovacic spoke about his move and his fellow Croatian teammate and Inter target, Luka Modric, who used to play and live in London whilst at Tottenham before his move to Real Madrid: “I always talk with Luka. Naturally he is happy for me and this move. But he is also sad because I have left as we had become very close there. He told me that London is a wonderful city. he also warned me that the Premier League is tough at first but it is a beautiful league to play in, the stadiums are always full and that I will enjoy myself here in England.”
