Il Sole 24 Ore journalist Marco Bellinazzo weighed in on Inter’s ongoing pursuit of Real Madrid and Croatian international midfielder Luka Modric and spoke on some of the circulating reports which have suggested Real Madrid could try and sue Inter.
“Firstly we need to understand how the operation is born, the needs of Modric are similar to those of Cristiano Ronaldo, as well as the fact there is a desire to try a new experience on the player’s part,” he said in an interview with SportItalia.
“It is clear that the operation arises only with certain conditions on the price tag and on the player’s salary. Interesting news came from Spanish newspapers that Real Madrid could denounce Inter to UEFA for breaching financial fair play, even if the player’s salary could be divided into sponsorship’s. It is clear however that everything depends on the will of Real Madrid president Florentino Perez.”
