Roma owner and president James Pallotta revealed that the Giallorossi have had little to no choice when it has come to selling their biggest and best players in the past few years.

Mohammed Salah departed for Liverpool last summer while both Radja Nainggolan and Alisson have left this summer for Inter and Liverpool respectively.

“I liked Salah a lot, but we had no choice, we had to let him go, which is what most people do not know, it was difficult, he asked to leave because he felt he had something to prove in the Premier League again, it was the same for Alisson and Nainggolan, who is a warrior on the field,” Pallotta said to Gazzetta dello Sport.

“You sometimes have no choice and you must try to get the most out of it when selling them and then buy players that are stronger than those who have left, or at least of the same level.”
