The Nerazzurri’s courting of Real Madrid’s Croatian international midfielder Luka Modric has irreversibly destroyed the relationship between the two clubs according to Spanish media outlet Cadena Ser.
According to the report, the Los Merengues leadership are furious with how Inter have been chasing the former Tottenham Hotspur man this summer, claiming that the Nerazzurri have been directly negotiating with the player despite the fact that he has a contract until the end of June 2020.
It remains to be seen which route Real Madrid will take and if FIFA coudl be able to sanction Inter for having infringed on the rules regarding negotiating with players under contract with another club. Meanwhile, the player himself is preparing to extend his contract with the club and in doing so also raise his wages.
Luka Modric joined Real Madrid int he summer of 2012 and has since then featured 258 times across all competitions scoring 13 times in the process.
