Prior to setting their sights upon – and eventually signing – winger Matteo Politano from Sassuolo, Inter had considered Torino winger Iago Falque according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Spaniard’s performances in the past two years at Torino have caught the eye of Inter manager Luciano Spalletti but no move was forthcoming from the Nerazzurri. In 77 games for Torino, Falque has found the back of the net no less than 26 times while tallying 20 assists in that time also. The 28-year-old is also understood to have attracted interest from his native homeland from Sevilla in particular.

The report from the Milan based newspaper does however go on to state that the Granata have no intention of selling the former Roma man this transfer window anyway amid the aforementioned interest in his services.

Inter coincidentally come up against Falque’s Torino this weekend, a match that Inter will be eager to win having lost their season opener against Sassuolo.
