Bologna manager Filippo ‘Pippo’ Inzaghi is sweating on the fitness of striker Mattia Destro for this weekend’s match with Inter with them lacking an out and out goalscorer as evidenced by the fact they have yet to find the back of the net this season.
Destro missed the Rossoblu’s opening day loss to SPAL through injury but managed to make a 20 minute cameo in the past weekend’s goalless draw with newly promoted Frosinone.
The former Inter youth product scored in his last appearance against Inter back in September 2016 but has been plagued by a foot injury since – an injury which in fact caused him to miss both games against his former employers last season.
The now 27-year-old striker left Inter in 2010 and has since went on to have spells with Genoa, Siena, Roma, Milan prior to joining his current employers in 2015 who he has made 88 appearances for and scored 25 goals.
