Former Inter striker Hernan Crespo has shared his happiness at Inter returning to the Champions League but admitted it will not be easy for the Nerazzurri on their return.

“I’m happy to see Inter in the Champions League again. After many years away it’s great to see the Nerazzurri here again. With them being in the fourth pot, I knew they would end in a tough group,” Crespo told RMC Sport.

“Barcelona evokes good memories but playing against them is never easy. After many years of not being in the Champions League it is going to be difficult, but it is going to be interesting to be able to play in big matches again. Tottenham are starting to gain experience in the competition and last year they overcame Real Madrid in the group stage. They must try not lose points against PSV. Inter is crazy, San Siro will be a spectacle and people are hungry for this so there will be a big crowd.”

Crespo also spoke on Inter’s poor start to the league campaign.

“I was expecting a different start. Inter hey must reach the top four, then we’ll see if Inter will also be the anti-Juventus. For a thousand reasons the Bianconeri are two or three steps ahead of everyone.”
