In an interview given in Il Resto Del Carlino in the week leading up to Bologna-Inter Evaristo Beccalossi, Inter midfielder from 1978 to 1984, told a story about the curious background on his career: “I had already said yes to Bologna, Corioni and Governato had come to Salsomaggiore and we had found the agreement. When they went to speak with the Sporting Director of Inter however, the Nerazzurri asked for too much and nothing came of it.”
Has the slow start already put Inter out of the Scudetto race?
“No, it is very early! We need calmness to find some form! And the same goes for Bologna: I have not seen the first two games, but in Emilia they must leave Inzaghi to work in peace because he is motivated and adores the job he does.”
On Verdi and Destro he stated: “Simone impressed me, in Milan’s youth, and I was surprised that he took so long to blossom, Mattia I saw him at Inter, even though he did his best with Sannino, but I can not say – not knowing it well – what happened!”
