Garlando: “Inter Have Nainggolan While Juventus Are Still Waiting For Cristiano Ronaldo”

Luigi Garlando from Gazzetta dello Sport spoke about yesterday’s victory against Bologna, he started by praising both Nainggolan and Candreva.

“Inter are already in tune with Nainggolan as he scored the opening goal against Bologna while Juventus are still waiting for Cristiano Ronaldo. Inter gained a lot more than just three points against Bologna last night. First of all, Nainggolan was brought in for two reasons: to strengthen the team’s competitive mentality, and to increase the quality in the final third. Nainggolan had a very strong debut, he was a spark for the team and scored the most important goal of the game. It was a bad field, Inter had very tight spaces to play within, but Nainggolan still managed to find the back of the net. Icardi’s absence was felt during the game, but Nainggolan’s goal filled that gap. It was also important to see Candreva score his first goal in over a year for Inter.”

He then goes on to discuss Inter going forward and growing as a team and adapting to Spalletti’s ideas:

Nainggolan is here, Candreva is back, Gagliardini is growing, and Spalletti finally has more players who are able to score goals as opposed to last season where it was only Icardi and Perisic. The Croatians are still recovering from all the hard work they had to put into the World Cup for their national team, this international break will really help with recovery and with working on certain tactics. Spalletti still has a lot of time to work on the Inter project and bring it back in line with the very high ambitions from the Summer.”
