Jan Oblak could well be the player Inter opt to sign as the heir to the ageing Samir Handanovic according to a report from Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.
With Handanovic turning 35-years-old next year, Inter need to think about life after him in between the sticks and Oblak could be the perfect player to replace him. Handanovic is still under contract until the end of the 2020/21 season and if his compatriot Oblak signed, it would give Inter two top goalkeepers, similar to what Juventus have had in recent years, particularly last season where there was both Gianluigi Buffon and Wojech Szczesny to choose from.
Oblak, who has a contract with Spanish side Atletico Madrid until 2022, is not the only player under consideration by Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio. According to the report, Fiorentina’s Alban Lafont, Sevilla’s Sergio Rico, Paris St. Germain’s Alphonse Areola and Cagliari’s Alessio Cragno are all also options.
