Footballing observatory CIES have published their weekly report and paid particular attention to some of the best transfer deals completed over the summer.

CIES listed the top 25 best and worse transfers in terms of the transfer fee in relation to the player’s true value.

New Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois tops the list of best transfers with a difference of €22.6 million. Los Blancos signed the Belgian shot stopper for €40 million while CIES believe he is truly worth €62.6 million.

His replacement at Chelsea in Kepa Arrizabalaga in comparison is the worst deal of the window. The young Spaniard was signed for €80 million but CIES instead believe he is only worth €35.3 million, representative of a difference of some €44.7 million.

Inter’s Radja Nainggolan’s move from Roma is deemed sixth best deal of the summer in the eyes of CIES. Nainggolan arrived for €40 million but has a true value of €52.9 million., a €12.9 million difference.
