Inter huffed and puffed for 90 minutes but were never able to break down Parma’s defence due to poor finishing. In a strange game Inter managed to dominate almost the entire 90 minutes only to see one of their on loan players score a wonderful goal from distance. Parma win their first game after getting promoted back to Serie A.

Samir Handanovic – 6: Made some great saves when called upon which was rare as we were in control. Didn’t expect that Dimarco shot and was too late to see it.

Danilo D’Ambrosio – 6: Started off very poorly. Then Spalletti asked him to attack a bit more and he really got stuck into Parma. Could have gotten a goal as well.

Milan Skriniar – 6: Missed an open goal, admittedly it was 50-50 ball but Skriniar usually wins these things. Did the ball moving and defending almost perfectly all game.

Stefan De Vrij – 6.5: Stefan was involved in every move, should have had an assist for Icardi. Was tough as nails all throughout the 90 mins today. Great signing.

Henrique Dalbert – 6: Great defensive tackling, some good marauding runs forward and finally managed to get involved in both phases. Needs to improve his crossing.

Roberto Gagliardini – 6.5: Apart from the poor tackle at the start, Gagliardini had a very good game. His finishing let him down but passing, movement and tackling was great.

Marcelo Brozovic – 5.5: Tried every single trick to open up Parma’s defence, tried different things but it wasn’t his day. A little more quality would have meant a win.

Antonio Candreva – 5: Sparkling start but his movement was a bit overcooked. Wasn’t afraid to shoot at all and looked confident but looked like he ran out of gas later on.

Radja Nainggolan – 6.5: The only starter who got things somewhat right. Sprayed the ball well, moved quick and effectively and won it when needed. Looked like a leader.

Ivan Perisic – 5: Played a lot wider today and did the basics right but never got the final pass or shot correct. Should have scored 1-2 goals in the first half. Unlucky?

Keita Balde – 4.5: His team-mates couldn’t get him involved at all. The one chance Inter created was saved by Sepe but didn’t look comfortable in the striker role at all.

Mauro Icardi – 4.5: Just like Keita the team struggled to get him involved. Looks like he isn’t 100% still after the injury and travelling and should have scored today. Poor.

Matteo Politano – 5.5: Provided a bit of pace from the right wing and his movement troubled Parma but never got stuck in and failed to produce that all important goal.

Kwadwo Asamoah – 5.5: D’Ambrosio’s injury meant Kwadwo was thrown on and did what he could to create a chance or goal. Still our best player so far this season. Should start.

Luciano Spalletti – 5: The starting lineup didn’t look good, his players didn’t interpret but the change to a 3 man defence made Inter look weaker in defence. Too many changes.

Gianluca Manganiello – 5: Some of the minor decisions like offside’s and simple fouls were not correct, the handball deserved a 2nd look. Overall another average performance.

Inter – 5: Inter cant expect to get anything more with finishing like that. Didn’t try to cross low or slower or quicker. Need to develop a plan B for attack.
