Milano based newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport heavily criticize last afternoon’s referees performance in the game between Inter and Parma, a game that Inter lost 0-1 after a late Parma goal in the second half.
The referee, Mangianello, became the main character for all the wrong reasons after an incredible error that robbed Inter of a clear penalty. The Gazzetta gives Manganiello a rating of 4.5 after the mistake that decided the game, describing his performance as: “In the moment where Dimarco plays the handball, the referee Manganiello trusts VAR referee Rocchi 100% and that impact is huge. First he failed to book Gagliardini for his harsh tackle in the first half, then he fails to see that Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic has a blocked view by a Parma player who is offside at the time of Dimarco’s goal, the same player involved in the handball situation. Also in this situation, the referee should have gone to VAR in order to sort out the situation.”
