Former Inter goalkeeper Francesco Toldo has not let Inter’s up and down start get in the way of how he views their capabilities.

“The Nerazzurri continue to be the anti-Juventus, despite their limitations. I am sorry that Inter have remained lacking in terms of scoring,” he told Radio Marte in an interview.

Toldo also spoke on the situation at Napoli – another anti-Juventus candidate – after they underwent a coaching change over the summer with Maurizio Sarri departing and Carlo Ancelotti coming in in his place.

“Napoli are still too dependent on Sarri. Carlo Ancelotti is a great coach and a great man but the team still has to demonstrate its continuity.”

Toldo concluded the interview by speaking on up and coming goalkeeper Alex Meret who has been in for a bit of criticism lately.

“Alex is someone who needs to be protected, excessive criticism is always to be avoided because it is harmful.”
