Italian World Cup winner Massimo Oddo is full of hope for the current crop of Inter players who he believes have yet to show their best as they continue to gel with one another.
“Inter is destined to improve because they are a great team. On paper, I think they are the second best team in Italy. Obviously they have to settle down and gel together, it will take some time but they are growing and I am sure they will have a great season,” he said in an interview with SportItalia.
Oddo then discussed Inter manager Luciano Spalletti’s controversial sending off in the win over Sampdoria at the weekend.
“I was never sent off for having a provocative attitude, but it happens that sometimes the referees are a bit touchy. The referees are also just humans and they too can be wrong but certainly they should not have sent him off for celebrating. “
