Cagliari midfielder Simone Padoin spoke with the Rossoblu’s official club website ahead of their visit to the San Siro this weekend where Inter will play host to them.

“A complicated match with Inter awaits us this weekend. We will try our best to rest well in the two days that separate us from the game and get ourselves ready for it. It will be essential to recover the energy lost [from the match with Sampdoria last night].”

The veteran former Juventus man, who has been playing for the Sardinian club since 2016, then reflected upon the 0-0 draw with Marco Giampaolo’s Sampdoria.

“We started as strongly as we did against Milan but unfortunately we could not get a result. The second half was a lot more balanced. Sampdoria are a great team and they put us in trouble. A defeat would have been undeserved and overall it was a positive game for us.”
